Prospective Member Information



GENERAL MEMBER REQUIREMENTS

This section summarizes the requirements for prospective members of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Air Squadron; however, additional requirements may exist as imposed by the bylaws, Board of Directors, or existing membership.

You may be eligible to become a member of the Sacramento Sheriff's Air Squadron upon satisfying the following conditions:


1. Membership is subject to proposal by 4 current members and unanimous approval by all existing members;
2. Members must have been a licensed pilot for the preceding two years prior to membership;
3. Members must hold a current private (or better) pilot's license;
4. Members must have logged a minimum of 250 flying hours;
5. Members must own, and continue to own (subject to a gap in ownership not exceeding one year) a substantial interest in an airplane suitable for emergency service if called upon by the Sacramento County Sheriff or Squadron chain of command; and,
6. New members must enroll in and complete Peace Officer training course PC 832.

MEETING ATTENDANCE
